Guitar Lessons
The Classical Guitar Store offers lessons by the best guitar teachers in the Philadelphia area - in all styles of guitar playing; Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Pop, Classical and Flamenco. With our staff of teachers we provide expert instruction in all playing styles. Each member of our staff is a professional performer of the style he or she teaches and has had long performing and teaching experience.
Lessons cost $40 per 1/2 hour.
Huck Browne is a jazz guitarist performing regularly in various venues in the Philadelphia area. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance from Temple University's Boyer College of Music where he studied with Greg Kettinger, Jake Kelberman and David Wong. Huck has a wide array of music interests and performs everything from modern compositions to traditional Cuban songs. He offers lessons in all styles of guitar.

Dave D'Arville is a Philadelphia-based guitarist, composer and songwriter. He holds a B.Mus. in Guitar Performance from Temple University where he studied with Greg Kettinger, Peter Bernstein and Allen Krantz. William Newman performs as a soloist and in a variety of ensembles, including the Mascaro-Newman Flute and Guitar Duo, the Penn-Newman Guitar Duo, Network For New Music and the Newman-Ghezzi Duo. In addition, he has performed with Network For New Music, the Opera Company of Philadelphia at the Academy of Music and in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. William has worked to expand the guitar chamber music repertoire and has published transcriptions for flute and guitar by Mozart, Schumann, Dvorak and Villa-Lobos.
John Penn, recognized as the best classical and flamenco guitar teacher in the area, is a well-known performer of both classical and flamenco guitar. A member of the Penn-Newman Guitar Duo, he holds a B.A. degree in music from Rutgers University and studied classical guitar for many years with William Viola. John Marcel Williams holds both Bachelor and Masters degrees from the Peabody Conservatory where he studied with Manuel Barrueco. He is currently studying at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia with Jason Vieaux and David Starobin. John has won top prizes in numerous competitions throughout the US.
